Subway
From Yonkers, head to the Yonkers Metro-North station located at 1 Larkin Center. Purchase a ticket to Grand Central Terminal. Board the Hudson Line train heading south. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central Terminal, exit the station and follow the signs to the 42nd Street subway station. Take the S train (Shuttle) to Times Square-42nd Street. From there, transfer to the 1, 2, or 3 train downtown towards South Ferry and get off at 14th Street station. Exit the station and walk east on West 14th Street until you reach Union Square at the intersection with Park Avenue South.
Bus
From any location in Yonkers, find a nearby bus stop for the Bee-Line Bus service. Board the BxM4C express bus towards Manhattan, which will take you directly to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Upon arriving at the terminal, exit and take the A or C subway line downtown to 14th Street. From there, transfer to the L train towards Brooklyn and get off at 14th Street-Union Square. Union Square will be right outside the station.
Walking
If you are close to downtown Yonkers, you can enjoy a scenic walk. Start at the waterfront in Yonkers at the Pier, then follow the Hudson River Greenway path north until you reach the intersection of Warburton Avenue and Main Street. Head east through the city streets towards the Metro-North station. From there, take the Metro-North train to Grand Central Terminal and follow the subway directions provided above to reach Union Square.
