Getting There

• Bus

  To reach Auckland Zoo by bus, start at the nearest bus stop to your location. Use the Auckland Transport website or app to find the bus number that goes towards Western Springs. Most likely, you will take a bus that goes to the city center first. Once in the city center, transfer to bus number 27 from the Britomart Transport Centre. The bus will take you directly to the bus stop on Motions Rd, which is just a short walk from the zoo entrance.

• Train and Bus

  Begin your journey by taking a train from any central Auckland station (such as Britomart or Newmarket) towards the Western Line. Get off at the Morningside Train Station. From there, you can catch bus number 27 that will take you directly to Motions Rd. The zoo is located a short walk from the bus stop.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby and prefer to walk, Auckland Zoo is located about 30-45 minutes on foot from the city center. Head northwest from Queen Street, passing through Aotea Square and up to Western Springs Park. Continue walking along the park paths until you reach Motions Rd. The entrance to the zoo will be visible from the road.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  For a more direct and comfortable option, consider using a taxi or rideshare service like Uber. Simply input 'Auckland Zoo' or 'Motions Rd, Western Springs' as your destination. The driver will navigate you directly to the zoo entrance, and the journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes from central Auckland, depending on traffic.
