Getting There

  • Bus

    If you're starting from the Christchurch city center, head to the Bus Interchange located at 37 Lichfield Street. Look for the Bus number 60 or 29 heading towards New Brighton. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'New Brighton' stop. From there, walk towards Marine Parade, which is just a short 5-minute walk, and you'll find yourself at New Brighton Beach.

  • Bicycle

    For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from various rental shops in the city. Start at the Cathedral Square and travel east along Worcester Street until you reach the Avon River. Follow the riverside path, heading east until you reach the New Brighton area. Once you reach New Brighton, follow the signs towards Marine Parade, which will lead you directly to the beach. The ride is approximately 8 km and should take about 30-40 minutes.
