Walking
If you're starting from the Christchurch Cathedral in the city center, head south on Worcester Street until you reach Montreal Street. Turn left onto Montreal Street and continue walking for about 10 minutes. The Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial will be on your right, just past the intersection with Kilmore Street. You will see a large open space with installations and plaques commemorating the victims of the earthquake.

From the Christchurch Bus Exchange, catch bus number 4 or 29 towards Lyttelton or Sumner. Get off at the Montreal Street stop, which is near the intersection with Kilmore Street. After getting off the bus, walk south on Montreal Street for about 5 minutes. The Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial will be on your right, featuring memorial installations and green spaces.
