Walking
If you are near the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, exit the gardens and head east towards Rolleston Avenue. Once you reach Rolleston Avenue, turn left and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Worcester Boulevard. Cross over to Worcester Boulevard and walk straight; you will pass the Christchurch Art Gallery on your right. Continue straight until you reach the Arts Centre, where The Central Art Gallery is located.

If you are taking the bus, catch the Blue Line (Route 87) or the Yellow Line (Route 28) from any downtown bus stop. Request to get off at the Arts Centre stop. Once you disembark, walk towards the main entrance of the Arts Centre. The Central Art Gallery is located within the Arts Centre complex. Follow the signs or ask for directions if needed.

You can also take the Christchurch Tram, which is a convenient way to explore the city. Board the tram at any tram stop and ride until you reach the Arts Centre stop. Disembark at the Arts Centre stop, and you’ll find The Central Art Gallery located within the Arts Centre complex. Just follow the signs to the gallery.
