    From Napier, head north on State Highway 2 (SH2) towards Wairoa. After approximately 30 km, take a left onto Pohokura Road. Follow Pohokura Road for about 10 km until you reach Boundary Stream Mainland Island Reserve, located at 1181 Pohokura Road, Tutira 4181. There is no entrance fee for the reserve.

    From Hastings, travel northeast on State Highway 2 (SH2) towards Wairoa. After about 40 km, turn right onto Pohokura Road. Continue along Pohokura Road for approximately 10 km to Boundary Stream Mainland Island Reserve at 1181 Pohokura Road, Tutira 4181. Note that there are no entrance fees to access the reserve.

    Take a bus from Napier or Hastings to Wairoa.
