Look for designated parking spots along the road and park safely. The falls are visible from the road, and you can enjoy a scenic view without a significant hike.

From the Milford Sound car park, you can walk towards the Giant Gate Falls. The falls are located just a short distance from the main road. If you take the walking track that leads to the viewpoint, you should follow the path that branches off from the main road. This walk will take approximately 15 minutes (1.5 km) one way. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction to the falls.

If you are using public transportation, first take a bus or shuttle service to Milford Sound from Te Anau or Queenstown. Once you arrive at Milford Sound, you can either walk to the falls or take a short taxi ride to the Giant Gate Falls viewpoint. Walking from the Milford Sound bus stop to the falls is about a 30-minute walk (2.5 km) along the scenic pathway.
