Walking
From the Napier city center, head towards the waterfront by walking down Marine Parade. You will pass by the iconic Sound Shell and continue along the promenade. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with the Tennyson Street. Turn left onto Tennyson Street and walk until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Ahuriri Road. Follow Ahuriri Road, which will lead you directly towards Ahuriri Estuary. Look for signage indicating the estuary area as you approach. The estuary is located just at the end of Ahuriri Road, where you can access the walking tracks and enjoy the scenic views.

From Napier city center, you can catch a bus to Ahuriri. Check the local bus schedule and board the bus that heads towards Ahuriri. Make sure to get off at the stop closest to the waterfront area. From there, you can walk towards the estuary by heading towards Ahuriri Road. Follow the road until you reach the estuary, where there are various walking tracks to explore the area.

If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Napier. Start your journey from the city center and ride along the Marine Parade. Continue biking until you reach the intersection with Tennyson Street. Turn left onto Tennyson Street and follow it until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Ahuriri Road and bike along this road until you reach Ahuriri Estuary. There are bike paths leading towards the estuary, making it a pleasant ride.
