Take a right to merge onto State Highway 1, then follow the signs for Hātea River. The river is located near the town center in Whangarei. Look for parking options along the waterfront.

From Whangarei, you can take a bus from the Whangarei Transport Centre. Look for buses heading towards Dargaville or any service that stops at Whangarei City Centre.
