If you are driving from Dunedin, take State Highway 1 (SH1) heading south. After about 27 km, take the exit towards State Highway 88 (SH88) to Port Chalmers. Continue on SH88 for about 18 km until you reach the intersection with the Otago Peninsula Road. Turn left onto Otago Peninsula Road and follow it for approximately 15 km. Keep an eye out for signs to Pilots Beach as you approach the area. The beach will be located on your left side.
