Start your journey at the Queenstown Gardens. From the main entrance of the gardens, head south towards the waterfront along the Lake Wakatipu. Continue along the waterfront path until you reach the Earnslaw Park. From Earnslaw Park, turn left onto Beach Street and walk until you reach the intersection with Camp Street. Turn right onto Camp Street and follow it until you reach the junction with Shotover Street. Turn left onto Shotover Street and continue straight until you reach the base of the Ben Lomond Track at the end of the street.

Once at the base of the Ben Lomond Track, you will see the sign indicating the start of the trail. Begin your ascent by following the well-marked trail. The hike to Ben Lomond Saddle takes approximately 2-3 hours. The path is steep in some areas, so be prepared for a challenging hike. Enjoy the stunning views as you climb higher. Make sure to take breaks and stay hydrated.
