If you're starting from the Queenstown Mall, head south towards the Lake Wakatipu waterfront. Walk along the beach promenade, enjoying the scenic views. Continue along the waterfront until you reach the Queenstown Gardens entrance, which is located on your left. Enter the gardens and follow the path as it curves around the edge of the gardens. Look for signs directing you to the William Gilbert Rees Monument; it is positioned near the bridge over the pond within the gardens.

From the Skyline Queenstown gondola base, exit the gondola station and head down Brecon Street. Take a left turn onto Camp Street and continue walking straight until you reach the waterfront area. Once you reach the waterfront, take a right and follow the promenade along the lake. This will lead you to the Queenstown Gardens. Enter the gardens and navigate towards the pond area where the William Gilbert Rees Monument is situated.
