    If you are driving from Invercargill, take State Highway 1 (SH1) heading north. After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, turn left onto State Highway 92 (SH92) towards Gore. Continue on SH92 for about 30 minutes until you reach the intersection with State Highway 1 again. Turn left to rejoin SH1 heading south. After about 20 minutes, take the exit towards Balclutha, and then follow signs for The Catlins. After about 1 hour, you will reach the town of Owaka. From Owaka, follow the signs to the Catlins Forest Park. The road will lead you to McLean Falls. There is a small car park at the entrance to the walking track that leads to the falls. Note that there is no entry fee for the falls track.

    For those using public transport, take a bus from Invercargill to Balclutha. You can find services operated by companies such as Southland District Council or Intercity. From Balclutha, you will need to catch a local bus or taxi to Owaka.
