Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the town center of Tasman. Head northwest on the State Highway 60 (SH60) towards Murchison. Continue on SH60 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for the Abel Tasman National Park. Turn left onto Abel Tasman Drive and follow the signs for the Abel Tasman Coast Track. You will need to park at one of the designated parking areas near the start of the track, as direct access to the Falls River Swing Bridge is via the walking track. Parking fees may apply, typically around NZD $10-15 per day.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, catch a bus from Tasman to the nearest town with bus services to Abel Tasman National Park, which is usually Motueka. From Motueka, you can take the Abel Tasman Shuttle service that runs to the various trailheads of the Abel Tasman Coast Track. Ensure to confirm the shuttle schedules in advance as they may vary seasonally. The shuttle fare is approximately NZD $30-40 one way. Once you arrive at the drop-off point, you will need to walk approximately 1-2 hours along the Abel Tasman Coast Track to reach the Falls River Swing Bridge.

Once you’ve parked your car or arrived via shuttle, you will need to walk along the Abel Tasman Coast Track. The walk to the Falls River Swing Bridge is scenic, with beautiful views of the coastline and lush bush. Follow the clearly marked track. The swing bridge is located approximately 2 kilometers from the nearest track entrance, so plan for about 30 minutes of walking. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water.
