If you're driving from the Abel Tasman National Park area, head towards Takaka. From Takaka, take the State Highway 60 towards the northwest. After approximately 12 kilometers, turn onto Canaan Road. Follow Canaan Road for about 7 kilometers until you reach the Harwoods Hole Track entrance. There is a parking area available at the trailhead, but be sure to arrive early during peak seasons as parking can fill up quickly.

If you are using public transportation, you can take a bus from Nelson to Takaka. Once in Takaka, you will need to arrange a taxi or shuttle service to take you to the Harwoods Hole Track entrance on Canaan Road.
