Turn left onto Ligar Bay Road and follow it until you reach the beach parking area.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Nelson to Takaka. The bus service is operated by Nelson Tasman Coachlines and runs several times a day. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Takaka, you will need to hire a taxi or use a rideshare service to reach Ligar Bay Beach, as there may not be a direct bus service to the beach itself. The taxi ride from Takaka to Ligar Bay Beach will take about 15 minutes and may cost around NZD 30.
