Walking
Start at the central park of Masaya, Parque Central de Masaya. Head southwest on Calle La Libertad for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Calle José de la Cruz Mena. Turn left onto Calle José de la Cruz Mena and continue for approximately 300 meters. You will pass by local shops and restaurants. At the end of this street, you will reach the main road, where you should turn right onto Carretera a Coyotepe. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you see a sign for El Coyotepe Fortress on your left. Follow the path uphill towards the fortress entrance.

From the central park of Masaya, walk to the nearest bus stop located near the church, Iglesia de San Jerónimo. Look for a bus or 'microbus' heading towards Coyotepe. The fare is usually around 10-15 Cordobas. Inform the driver that you are going to El Coyotepe Fortress. The bus will drop you off at the main road. From there, you will need to walk approximately 500 meters uphill to reach the fortress entrance, following the signs.
