If you're starting from the central park in Masaya, head west towards the main road (Carretera Masaya - Granada). You will pass by local shops and cafes. Once you reach the main road, turn left and continue walking for about 10 minutes. Look for the sign indicating Malecon, and you will find it on your right. The Malecon is a waterfront park where you can enjoy views of the lake.
