Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Matagalpa. Head south on Calle 12 de Septiembre towards Avenida Juan José de la Cruz. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida Miguel de la Madrid. Turn left onto Avenida Miguel de la Madrid and drive approximately 1.5 kilometers. Look for the signage on your right for Hostal La Buena Onda, located in Barrio Salvador Amador, which is just ahead.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, take a local bus or taxi from the central bus station in Matagalpa. Look for buses headed towards Barrio Salvador Amador; they regularly run every 15-20 minutes. The fare should be around 10-15 Nicaraguan córdobas (approximately $0.30). Inform the driver of your destination: 'Hostal La Buena Onda.' Once you arrive at Barrio Salvador Amador, you can walk to the hostel, which is located a short distance away. Make sure to ask for directions if needed, as locals are usually very helpful.

  If you're close enough and prefer walking, from the Matagalpa Cathedral, head south on Calle 12 de Septiembre towards Avenida Juan José de la Cruz. Continue straight until you reach Avenida Miguel de la Madrid. Turn left and walk for about 1.5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for a sign for Hostal La Buena Onda on your right. This route is scenic, passing through local shops and coffee stands, making it an enjoyable walk.
