From the center of Matagalpa, head north on the main road (Carretera Panamericana) towards Jinotega. Continue for about 10 kilometers until you see the sign for Selva Negra on your right. Turn onto the access road, which is well-marked. Drive approximately 2 kilometers on this road, and you will arrive at the entrance to Selva Negra. There is parking available on-site. Be aware that you may need to pay a small fee for parking.

From the main bus terminal in Matagalpa, take a bus heading towards Jinotega. It’s essential to ask the driver to drop you off at the Selva Negra stop, which is approximately 10 kilometers from Matagalpa. The fare is usually around 20-30 Nicaraguan Cordobas. Once you get off the bus, you can either walk about 2 kilometers down the access road to reach Selva Negra or wait for a local taxi, which may cost around 100 Cordobas for the short trip.
