From any location in Ometepe, head to the main bus terminal in either Moyogalpa or San José del Sur. If you are in Moyogalpa, take a bus heading towards Mérida. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for Mérida. Once you arrive in Mérida, you will need to ask locals for directions to 'Caballito's Mar,' which is located 100 meters north of the Instituto. You can ask for 'Barrio Santa María' or 'Al Caballito' to ensure you're on the right track.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in either Moyogalpa or San José del Sur. From Moyogalpa, cycle towards the road leading to Mérida. The distance is about 10 km. Follow the signs towards Mérida and once you reach the town, look for the Instituto. Caballito's Mar is located 100 meters north of the Instituto, and you will need to cycle approximately 1.5 km from the center of Mérida to reach the hotel.

If you are in Mérida, you can easily walk to Caballito's Mar. Start at the central park in Mérida and head north towards the Instituto, which is a prominent landmark. From the Instituto, walk 100 meters north and then head 350 meters towards the lake. The hotel will be on your left as you approach the lake. This walk will take about 15-20 minutes.
