Car
From Rivas town, head east on the main road (Carretera a San Jorge). After approximately 20 kilometers, turn left towards San Jorge and follow the signs for the ferry to Ometepe Island. Once you reach the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket (cost: approximately $1-2 per person) and board the ferry to Ometepe Island. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes. After arriving at Ometepe, continue driving towards the town of Merida, which is about 20 kilometers from the ferry terminal. Follow the signs for Volcan Maderas National Park. The park entrance is located near the town of San Ramón.

From Rivas, take a local bus to San Jorge (cost: approximately $0.50). Buses run regularly throughout the day. Upon reaching San Jorge, find the ferry terminal and buy a ticket for the ferry to Ometepe Island (cost: approximately $1-2 per person). After about 30 minutes on the ferry, disembark at Ometepe. From there, take a local bus or taxi to Merida (cost: around $1-3). In Merida, ask for directions to Volcan Maderas National Park, and you can either walk (about 4 kilometers) or hire a taxi to reach the park entrance.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Rivas to the ferry terminal in San Jorge (cost: approximately $15-20).
