Car
To reach Mount Pitt Lookout by car from Point Hunter, start by heading southeast on Point Hunter Road. Continue until you reach the intersection with Queen Elizabeth Avenue. Turn left onto Queen Elizabeth Avenue and follow it until you see the signs for Mount Pitt Road. Turn right onto Mount Pitt Road and follow it up the hill. The lookout is located at the end of Mount Pitt Road, where there is parking available. Please note that there is no parking fee.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, take the local shuttle service that operates around Norfolk Island. Catch the shuttle at any designated stop in Point Hunter. Ask the driver to drop you off at Mount Pitt Lookout. The shuttle operates on a limited schedule, so be sure to check the timetable in advance. There may be a small fare for the shuttle ride, usually around AUD 5 to 10 per person.
Walking
For an adventurous route, you can walk from Point Hunter to Mount Pitt Lookout. Begin on Point Hunter Road and head southeast, then connect to Queen Elizabeth Avenue. Once you reach Mount Pitt Road, follow it uphill. This is a steep walk, so ensure you have comfortable shoes and plenty of water. The total walking distance is approximately 3.5 kilometers one way, and it may take around 45 minutes to an hour depending on your pace.
