Bus
From downtown Asheville, take the ART (Asheville Redefines Transit) bus route 1 or 3 towards the Blue Ridge Parkway. Get off at the stop at the entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center. From there, transfer to the route 4 bus that heads towards Brevard. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Sliding Rock. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes.

Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the shops in downtown Asheville. Head south on Biltmore Ave, then take a left on US-25. Continue on US-25 until you reach Highway 276. Follow Highway 276 for about 10 miles until you reach Sliding Rock. This ride will take about 1 hour, depending on your cycling speed and traffic conditions.

Unfortunately, walking to Sliding Rock from downtown Asheville is not practical due to the distance (about 10 miles) and the lack of sidewalks along the highway. It's recommended to use public transport or a bicycle instead.
