Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, make your way to US-158, the main highway that runs through the Coastal Plain region. From the south, take US-158 north. From the north, you will also take US-158 south. Follow signs for Corolla and the Outer Banks. As you approach Corolla, turn onto NC-12 N, which is also known as the Corolla Highway. Continue on NC-12 N for about 12 miles. Once you reach the village of Corolla, turn onto Corolla Village Road. The Currituck Beach Lighthouse will be on your right at 1101 Corolla Village Rd, Corolla, NC 27927. There is a parking lot available near the lighthouse, which may incur a small fee (typically around $5 for parking).

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, consider taking a bus service that operates in the Outer Banks area. Start by checking for local bus routes that connect to the town of Corolla. Once in Corolla, you may need to use a taxi or rideshare service to reach the lighthouse. Note that public transportation options may be limited, and it's recommended to check the local schedules in advance. If using a taxi or rideshare, the fare may vary based on the distance but expect to pay around $10-$20 for a short trip to the lighthouse.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, you can also reach Currituck Beach Lighthouse by bicycle. If you are in the Corolla area, you can bike along the scenic paths that lead to the lighthouse. Ensure you have a map or GPS device, as some paths may not be well-marked. The ride from the center of Corolla to the lighthouse is approximately 3 miles and should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear a helmet and stay hydrated.
