History of Coastal Plain

Long before European settlers arrived, the Coastal Plain of North Carolina was home to various Native American tribes, including the Tuscarora, Pamlico, and Secotan. These tribes lived off the rich resources of the land and waters, engaging in hunting, fishing, and agriculture.
