Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by heading east on US-74 E from any location in the Foothills area. Continue on US-74 E for approximately 20 miles until you reach Exit 67 for NC-19 N toward Bryson City. Merge onto NC-19 N and follow it for about 5 miles. As you approach Bryson City, turn left onto US-441 N. Continue on US-441 N for about 15 miles until you reach the Great Smoky Mountains National Park entrance. After entering the park, follow signs for Clingmans Dome Road. The Clingmans Dome Trailhead is located at the end of Clingmans Dome Road, which is approximately 7 miles from the park entrance.
