Public Bus
To get to Paddy's Creek Campground from Hickory, start by heading to the Hickory Public Transportation bus stop located at the Hickory City Hall (located at 76 North Center Street). Board the bus that travels towards Morganton. You may need to transfer at the Morganton Transit Center to catch a bus that heads towards Nebo. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to go to Nebo, as this is the closest town to the campground. After reaching Nebo, you may need to walk approximately 1.5 miles south along the main road, following signs towards Park Trail, until you reach 2693 Park Trail, where Paddy's Creek Campground is located.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer to ride a bicycle, you can rent one from a local bike shop in Hickory, such as the 'Hickory Bicycles'. From the shop, head south on 4th Street NW towards the intersection with US-321. Turn right onto US-321 and follow it north until you reach the exit for NC-10 towards Morganton. Continue on NC-10, which will lead you towards Nebo. Look for Park Trail and turn right, heading towards the campground. The total distance is approximately 15 miles, so be prepared for a good ride!

Walking
If you are up for a long walk, you can start from the Hickory City Hall. Head south on 4th Street NW until you reach US-321. Cross the highway carefully and continue walking along the Old Lenoir Road towards Morganton. This route is approximately 12 miles and will take you through some scenic spots. Once you reach Nebo, look for Park Trail and walk until you see Paddy's Creek Campground at 2693 Park Trail. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated!
