From downtown Hickory, walk to the nearest bus stop at the Hickory Transportation Center located at 320 1st Ave NE. Take bus route 3 towards Catawba Valley Community College. Ride the bus until you reach the Catawba Valley Community College stop. From there, you will need to transfer to bus route 4 towards Lenoir. Ride this bus until you reach the Nebo stop. From the bus stop, it is about a 15-minute walk to Paddys Creek Area; head southwest on NC-70 to reach the entrance of the park.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local bike rental shop in Hickory. Start your ride from downtown Hickory and head west on NC-70. Continue on NC-70 for about 10 miles. You will pass several landmarks along the way. Once you reach Nebo, take a right onto the road leading to Paddys Creek Area. Follow the signs to the park, which will be approximately a half-mile down the road.

If you are feeling adventurous and want to walk, you can start from downtown Hickory. Head southwest on 1st St SW towards 2nd Ave SW, then turn left onto 2nd Ave SW. Continue straight to merge onto NC-70. Follow the road for about 10 miles, enjoying the scenery. Once you reach Nebo, look for signs directing you to Paddys Creek Area, which will be about a half-mile from the main road.
