    If you're traveling by car, the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge is located at Milltail Rd, East Lake, NC 27953. From any location in Inner Banks, head towards US-64 E. If you're in Manteo, take US-64 E for about 15 miles until you reach the junction with NC-345. Turn left onto NC-345 and continue for approximately 6 miles. You will see signs for the refuge. Turn left onto Milltail Rd, where you will find the entrance to the refuge. There is no entrance fee to access the refuge.
