Car
From Inner Banks, take US-64 East towards Roanoke Island. Continue on US-64 until you reach the junction with US-158. Merge onto US-158 South. Follow US-158, which will lead you onto the Wright Memorial Bridge, taking you to the Outer Banks. Once on the Outer Banks, continue on NC-12 South, which is the primary road leading to Cape Hatteras National Seashore. You will pass through several towns, including Nags Head and Corolla. Follow NC-12 for approximately 50 miles until you reach the entrance to Cape Hatteras National Seashore. There are no tolls on this route.

Public Transportation (Bus)
If you prefer public transportation, take the Dare County Public Transit (DCP) bus service from various locations within the Inner Banks to Manteo. From Manteo, transfer to the bus service that travels south towards Hatteras Island. DCP services run regularly, but check the schedule beforehand to ensure you have the correct timing. There is a small fare for each leg of the journey; typically around $2-$5, depending on the distance. Once you arrive in Hatteras Village, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the entrance of Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
