    From the center of Pisgah National Forest, head north on US-276 N. Continue on US-276 N for approximately 16 miles until you reach the intersection with NC-80 N. Turn left onto NC-80 N and drive for about 10 miles. You will see a sign for Mount Mitchell State Park. Turn right onto NC-128, and continue for about 5 miles until you reach the park entrance at 2388 NC-128, Burnsville, NC 28714. Note that there is a parking fee of $7 per vehicle.
