Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Pinehurst, head southwest on US-15 S/US-501 S for about 20 miles. Merge onto US-64 W and continue for approximately 15 miles. Take the exit toward NC-280 W and follow the signs for Brevard. After about 10 miles, turn left onto Staton Rd. DuPont State Recreational Forest will be on your right after about 1 mile.

    From Southern Pines, take US-1 S for about 15 miles until you reach the intersection with NC-68. Turn right onto NC-68 and continue for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with US-64 W. Turn left onto US-64 W and follow the previous directions from there.

  • Public Transportation

    Start by taking the Sandhills Community College shuttle or any local bus service toward the Pinehurst area. From Pinehurst, transfer to a bus heading towards Brevard (make sure to check schedules, as services may be limited). Upon reaching Brevard, use a rideshare service or local taxi to reach Staton Rd. The DuPont State Recreational Forest is approximately 12 miles from Brevard.
