Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from a central location in Sandhills, head south on US-1 S. Continue on US-1 S for approximately 30 miles. Then take NC-211 S exit toward Southport. Follow NC-211 S for around 15 miles until you reach the intersection with NC-74 E. Merge onto NC-74 E and continue for about 12 miles. Take the exit toward Lake Waccamaw and follow the signs to NC-410 N. Turn left onto State Park Dr, and after about 1 mile, you will reach Lake Waccamaw State Park located at 1866 State Park Dr, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450. Note that parking at the park may incur a small fee.

• Public Transport

  If you are using public transportation, you will first need to take a bus from your location in Sandhills to the nearest major bus station that connects to regional services, such as in Southern Pines or Fayetteville. From there, you can find a Greyhound or another regional bus service heading towards Lake Waccamaw or Whiteville. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as services may be limited. Upon reaching Whiteville, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining distance of about 10 miles to Lake Waccamaw State Park.
