Getting There

  • Car

    From Wrightsville Beach, head southwest on N Lumina Ave toward W Salisbury St. Continue on N Lumina Ave which will eventually turn into S Lumina Ave. After about 3 miles, take a left onto N Wrightsville Ave. Continue for about 2 miles and then take a right onto US-74 W. After approximately 5 miles, take exit 415 for US-421 S towards Wilmington. Merge onto US-421 S and continue for about 8 miles. Take the exit towards S College Rd, then turn left onto S College Rd. After about 1.5 miles, turn right onto Trails End Rd. Follow Trails End Rd until you reach the Masonboro Island Reserve parking area. Please note that there may be a small parking fee.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, take the Wave Transit bus from Wrightsville Beach to Wilmington. Board the bus at the nearest stop on Lumina Ave. Ride towards the downtown area and transfer to the bus heading to S College Rd. You will need to get off at the stop closest to S College Rd and Trails End Rd. From there, it is approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the Masonboro Island Reserve.
