Walking
From the center of Cavalier, head east on Main Street towards 3rd Avenue NE. Continue straight to merge onto ND-5 E. Follow this road for approximately 13 miles. You will pass through some scenic rural areas. As you approach Walhalla, keep an eye out for the signs for Gingras Trading Post State Historic Site. Once you reach the intersection with 105th St NE, turn left. The historic site will be about 1 mile down this road on your right.

Starting from Cavalier, begin your ride on Main Street heading east. After a short distance, take a right onto 3rd Avenue NE, which will lead you out of town. Continue straight to merge onto ND-5 E. This route is about 13 miles long and features a mostly flat terrain, making it suitable for biking. As you near Walhalla, watch for signs directing you to Gingras Trading Post. Turn left onto 105th St NE and ride for about 1 mile to reach the historic site on your right.
