Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Cavalier, head south on Main Street until you reach 1st Street. Turn left onto 1st Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Highway 81. Cross the highway and continue straight. Follow the road as it curves to the right, and you will be heading west. Keep walking until you reach the bridge over the Pembina River. After crossing the bridge, you will see signs for the Initial Rock Interpretive Site. Follow those signs, which will lead you to the site.

• Biking

  Starting from Cavalier City Park, head south on Park Avenue. At the intersection with 1st Street, turn left and follow 1st Street to Highway 81. Carefully cross the highway, then continue straight as the road curves westward. Follow the road until you reach the bridge over the Pembina River. After crossing the bridge, look for directional signs that will guide you to the Initial Rock Interpretive Site. It’s a scenic bike ride with some lovely views along the way.

• Public Transport/Walking

  If you are in Cavalier and prefer public transport, check for any local bus services that run towards Medora or nearby attractions. Upon arriving at the nearest bus stop, you may need to walk to the Initial Rock Interpretive Site. Head south on Main Street, turn left onto 1st Street, and continue to Highway 81. Cross the highway and follow the road west, passing over the Pembina River. Look for signs directing you to the site.
