    From the main entrance of Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, head south on State Park Road. Continue straight for approximately 3 miles until you reach the intersection with I-94. Merge onto I-94 westbound towards Bismarck. Stay on I-94 for about 8 miles. Take exit 161 for US-83 N toward Bismarck. After exiting, continue on US-83 N for approximately 4 miles. Take exit 2B for Bismarck Ave. and continue straight onto Bismarck Ave. After about 2 miles, turn right onto Cottonwood Trail Ext. Cottonwood Park will be on your left. The drive typically takes around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic.

    If using public transportation, start at the Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park Visitor Center and take the local bus service (check local schedules for the most accurate times). You will need to take the bus towards Bismarck, which should take approximately 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive at the Bismarck Transit Center, switch to Bus Route 3, which heads towards Cottonwood Trail. Get off at the stop closest to Cottonwood Trail Ext. From there, it is a short walk to Cottonwood Park. Be aware that bus fares will apply and are typically around $1.50 per ride.
