Car
If you are traveling by car, head to Washburn, ND. From Lake Sakakawea, take ND-200 E toward Washburn. Continue on ND-200 E for approximately 30 miles. Once you arrive in Washburn, turn onto 28th Ave SW (you will see signs for Fort Mandan). The Fort Mandan State Historic Site is located at 838 28th Ave SW. There is no entrance fee, but be prepared for potential parking fees if applicable.
