If you are starting from downtown Mandan, head east on Main St towards 1st Ave E. Turn left onto 1st Ave E and continue walking until you reach Memorial Hwy (US-1806). Cross over to the other side of Memorial Hwy and follow it north. After about 1 mile, you will reach the intersection with River Dr NE. Turn left onto River Dr NE and continue walking for about half a mile. The Missouri River Natural Area and Trailhead will be on your right at 1472 River Dr NE.

From downtown Mandan, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop. Start by heading east on Main St towards 1st Ave E. Turn left onto 1st Ave E and then take a right onto Memorial Hwy (US-1806). Follow Memorial Hwy north for approximately 1 mile, then turn left onto River Dr NE. Continue on River Dr NE for about half a mile; the Missouri River Natural Area and Trailhead will be on your right at 1472 River Dr NE.
