Walking
Start at the center of Ålesund, near the main square (St. Olav's Square). Head towards the waterfront and walk along the promenade (Kai). Continue walking until you reach the intersection with St. Olavs gate. Turn left onto St. Olavs gate and walk straight until you reach a small park on your right. This park is called 'Parkeringsplassen'. From there, look for the sign leading to Sukkertoppen, which indicates the starting point of the trail. Follow the trail markers that guide you through the forested path up to Sukkertoppen. The hike takes approximately 35 minutes if you are in good condition.

Begin at the main bus station in Ålesund, which is located near the waterfront. Take bus number 602 or 603 towards 'Aksla.' Stay on the bus for about 10 minutes and alight at the 'Aksla' stop. From there, follow the signs indicating the trail to Sukkertoppen. The hike will take approximately 35 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return times.

Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Ålesund. Start at the waterfront and head towards the Aksla viewpoint. Follow the road uphill until you reach the entrance of the Sukkertoppen trail. Park your bicycle securely and continue on foot up the trail. The hike will take around 35 minutes once you start walking.
