Walking
If you are starting from the Fish Market (Fisketorget), head east towards the Bryggen Wharf. Walk along the waterfront, passing the beautiful historic buildings. Continue straight along the harbor until you reach the big park area called Festningsparken. From there, take the path leading up towards the fortress. The Bergenhus Festningsmuseum is located within the fortress grounds at Bergenhus 30. Look for signs indicating the museum as you approach.

From Bergen Bus Station (Bergen Busstasjon), take bus number 11 towards Nesttun or bus number 12 towards Haukedalen. Get off at the stop 'Bergenhus Festning' which is a short walk from the museum. After disembarking, follow the signs to the fortress. The museum is accessible within the fortress area at Bergenhus 30.
