Public Transport
Start your journey at Bergen's main transportation hub, Bergen Stasjon (the central train station). From there, take bus number 16 towards 'Gravdal.' The bus stop is located right outside the station. Ride the bus for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the 'Gravdal' stop. Once you exit the bus, head towards the direction of Gravdalsbakken. Follow the road uphill for about 10 minutes until you see the entrance to Kvarven Fort on your right. The fort is situated at the top of the hill, offering a stunning view of the surrounding area.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the area on foot, start at the Bergen Fish Market (Fisketorget). From the Fish Market, walk towards the waterfront and follow the signs to 'Bryggen.' Continue along the waterfront promenade until you reach the 'Bergenhus Fortress.' From there, take the road leading towards Laksevåg. Walk along the waterfront for approximately 30 minutes until you reach Gravdalsbakken, where Kvarven Fort is located. The walk offers beautiful views of the harbor and the surrounding hills.
Bicycle
For an exciting bike ride, rent a bicycle at one of the rental shops near the Bergen city center. Start your ride from the city center and head towards Laksevåg. Follow the path along the waterfront, which will eventually lead you to Gravdalsbakken. The ride is approximately 5 kilometers and will take you about 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace. Once you reach Gravdalsbakken, lock your bike at the designated area and walk towards Kvarven Fort, which is just a short uphill walk from there.
