If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Hemsedal. Head east on Fv52 (also known as Hemsedalsvegen) for approximately 7.5 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards Selenefossen. You will turn left onto a smaller road marked with a sign indicating the waterfall. Continue on this road for about 2 kilometers until you reach the parking area. The last part of the route can be a bit narrow, so drive carefully.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, first take a bus from Hemsedal to Gol. From the Hemsedal bus station, board the bus that goes to Gol (check the timetable for the latest schedule). Once you arrive in Gol, transfer to a local bus heading back towards Hemsedal, which stops near Selenefossen. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop. From there, it's a short walk (approximately 1.5 kilometers) to reach Selenefossen. Follow the signs towards the waterfall.
Walking/Biking
If you are already in Hemsedal and prefer walking or biking, you can start from the town center. Follow the Hemsedalsvegen road towards east and then take the small road leading to Selenefossen. The walk is about 10 kilometers from the town center and will take roughly 2 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the trail can be steep in some areas.
