Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you're traveling by car from anywhere in Innlandet, take the E6 highway southbound towards Oslo. Continue on the E6 for approximately 150 km (about 1 hour 45 minutes drive) until you reach the outskirts of Oslo. Follow signs for 'Oslo Sentrum' and merge onto the E18. Once in central Oslo, follow the signs towards 'Fridtjof Nansens plass'. The Viking Planet is located at Fridtjof Nansens plass 4, which is close to the National Theatre. There is paid parking available nearby, so be prepared for parking fees.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a train from various locations in Innlandet to Oslo. For example, from Hamar, you can board a Vy train to Oslo Central Station (Oslo S). The journey takes about 1 hour 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Oslo S, exit the station and walk to the nearby National Theatre tram station. Take tram number 12 or 15 towards 'Majorstuen' and get off at 'Nationaltheatret'. The Viking Planet is just a short walk from there, located at Fridtjof Nansens plass 4.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-sharing service like Uber from Oslo Central Station. The journey will take about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic and costs around 100-150 NOK (Norwegian Kroner). Just provide the driver with the address: Fridtjof Nansens plass 4, 0160 Oslo.
