From the center of Oppdal, head southeast on Storgata toward O. T. Hoplands veg. Continue for about 2.5 km on E6 (the main highway). Take the exit onto Fylkesvei 70 toward Rennebu. Continue on Fylkesvei 70 for approximately 16 km until you reach a sign for De Dødes Tjern. Turn left onto the road leading toward the lake. There are no specific parking facilities, but you can find a place to park along the roadside near the entrance to the area. Please be cautious of local traffic regulations.

Start at the Oppdal train station. Take the bus operated by AtB (line 540) towards Rennebu. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Rennebu' stop.
