Public Transport - Tram
If you are near the Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), head to the tram stop located just outside the station. Take Tram Line 12 (Bjølsen) or Tram Line 13 (Majorstuen) and get off at the stop named 'Nationaltheatret'. From there, walk along 'Universitetsgata' towards 'Frederiks gate'. Continue straight until you reach 'Frederiks gate 2', where the Historical Museum is located.
Public Transport - Bus
From the Oslo Central Station, you can also take Bus Line 30 (Bryn) or Bus Line 31 (Løren) from the bus terminal. Get off at the stop 'St. Olavs plass'. From there, walk towards 'Frederiks gate' and follow the street until you reach 'Frederiks gate 2', which is the address of the Historical Museum.

If you are in the city center, you can walk to the Historical Museum. Start at the 'Karl Johans gate' (the main street). Walk towards the Royal Palace and then take a left on 'Universitetsgata'. Continue straight until you reach 'Frederiks gate', turn right, and walk until you see 'Frederiks gate 2'. The Historical Museum will be on your left.
