Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), exit the station and head towards the main street, Jernbanetorget. Turn left onto Karl Johans gate, which is a pedestrian street. Walk straight along Karl Johans gate for about 1 km. You will pass the National Theatre on your right and the Parliament building (Stortinget) on your left. Continue walking until you reach the end of Karl Johans gate, where the street opens up to a large square. Here, you will see the Royal Palace (Slottsplassen 1) directly in front of you.

  • Public Transport - Tram

    From the Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), take tram line 12 from the nearby tram stop, Jernbanetorget. Get off at the stop called 'Slottsparken'. From there, walk towards the Royal Palace, which is about a 5-minute walk. Head straight into Slottsparken (the Palace Park) and you will see the palace at the north end of the park.

    From Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), take bus number 30 from the bus stop located just outside the station. Get off at the stop named 'Slottsplassen'. You will be right at the entrance to the Royal Palace. The palace will be visible as soon as you step off the bus.
