Public Transport
Start at Oslo Central Station (Oslo Sentralstasjon). From there, take the T-bane (metro) Line 1 (Frognerseteren) towards Frognerseteren. Get off at the Vettakollen station, which is approximately a 15-minute ride. Once you exit the station, follow the signs pointing towards Vettakollen Viewpoint. The trail begins just a short walk from the station. The hike to the viewpoint will take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace, and will lead you through beautiful natural surroundings.

If you prefer to walk, you can start from the National Theatre area in Oslo. Head towards the Aker Brygge waterfront and then follow the path along the fjord until you reach Bygdøy. From Bygdøy, you can either take a bus or continue walking towards the Vettakollen area. It’s a longer route and may take over an hour, but it provides scenic views along the way.

For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental stations in Oslo. Head towards the Bygdøy peninsula and then follow the bike paths that lead up towards Vettakollen. The cycling route is approximately 5-6 kilometers and offers a mix of urban and natural landscapes. Once you reach the base of Vettakollen, you will need to park your bike and hike the remaining distance to the viewpoint.
