Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards Oslo city center. Use the E6 motorway and follow signs for Oslo. Once you enter the city, follow the signs for 'Sentrum'. You should look for 'Frederiks gate' on your GPS. The Historical Museum is located at Frederiks gate 2, 0164 Oslo. There is limited street parking available nearby, and parking fees may apply, typically around NOK 30-50 per hour.
Public Transportation - Train
Take a train from other locations in Østlandet to Oslo Central Station (Oslo S). Trains are frequent and run regularly. Once you arrive at Oslo S, follow the signs to the Metro station within the train station. Take Metro Line 1 (Frognerseteren) or Line 2 (Sognsvann) towards the respective terminals. Get off at 'Nationaltheatret' station. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the Historical Museum. Head south on Bislett towards Frederiks gate, and then turn right onto Frederiks gate. The museum will be on your right.
Public Transportation - Bus
If you're using the bus, find a bus station that services routes to Oslo. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in Oslo, you can either walk or take the Metro to reach the Historical Museum. If you choose to walk, it’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the bus terminal to Frederiks gate 2. Alternatively, you can take a Metro from 'Jernbanetorget' (near the bus terminal) to 'Nationaltheatret' as described above.
